An “i-Con” Year for Penny-Farthing Press at the 2005 San Diego Comic-Con International
iPod® Mobile Digital Device Prize Giveaway Headlines Booth Events
Houston, TX–June 30, 2005–Penny-Farthing Press (PFP) announced recently their special booth events for San Diego Comic-Con International July 13 through July 17. Along with exclusive convention specials and artist appearances, PFP will give away two (2) Apple iPod® mobile digital devices to two (2) show attendees.
“We’re really excited by the line-up this year,” PFP publisher Ken White said. “We’ve had the opportunity to work with some of the most talented and professional individuals in the comics industry, and we want to share our good fortune with fans. Comic-Con is the perfect opportunity.”
All convention attendees and retailers will be eligible to win one of the two iPod® mobile digital devices to be given away on Sunday, July 17, the last day of the convention, and may enter the contest in one of two categories: retailer or fan. To register, retailers must renew or join Penny-Farthing Press’s Direct-Order-Retailer Program (DOR), and fans must register at the Penny-Farthing Press booth (#1321). Purchase is not necessary to win. Registration will begin on Preview Night, Wednesday, July 13, and will continue until the drawing at 3:00 PM PST on Sunday, July 17.
Entrants need not be present to win, and will be notified via contact information provided at the Penny-Farthing Press booth. However, a present winner will be able to listen to his or her new iPod® mobile digital device on the way home.
Fans and retailer will also have the opportunity to win one of three (3) original full-size, original art pages pencilled by Captain Gravity penciller Sal Velluto at the show. Attendees are welcome to stop by the PFP booth to watch Sal render the pages, and may enter the contest by registering at the PFP booth. No purchase necessary. Drawings will take place at the end of the day Thursday through Saturday at 6:00 P.M. PST, though entrants do not have to be present to win.
Complete contest rules and regulations will be available for both raffles will be available at the booth and online at www.pfpress.com.
In addition to the prize giveaways, Penny-Farthing Press will debut Decoy: Menagerie, Part 1 Anthology, and Captain Gravity and the Power of the Vril, Issue 6, and will feature the highly-anticipated triple-sized final issue #25 of The Victorian at the show.
The anthology, as well as all PFP merchandise will reflect exclusive convention specials: $2.00 comic books, $10.00 graphic novels and children’s books, $5.00 t-shirts, and $1.00 single Zendra issues. Fans may also meet PFP artists and writers at several times during the convention. The tentative booth schedule is as follows:
